Yash and Srinidhi Shetty starrer KGF has continued its golden run at the Bo Office. The Hindi version of the film minted Rs 2.60 crore on Wednesday and the total collection now stands at Rs 19.05 crore. Not only in India, but the movie is also doing wonders in other countries as well. It became the highest grossing Kannada film after crossing Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. The Box Office figures were shared by Trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.
Taran took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “#KGF shows solid trending… Day 6 is higher than Day 1, which indicates that the positive word of mouth has come into play… Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr, Sun 4.10 cr, Mon 2.90 cr, Tue 4.35 cr, Wed 2.60 cr. Total: ₹ 19.05 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.”
The movie is fighting the battle with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero. The latter minted Rs 81.32 crore till now. Talking about it, Yash told The News Minute as saying, “I won’t say that doing better than a Shah Rukh Khan film is something I aspire to do. Ideally, I would want both the films to do well. But yes, the way north Indian audiences have responded has surprised all of us in the KGF team. In north India, they don’t know who I am, yet they are clapping and cheering at my entry.”
KGF stands for Kolar Gold Fields. Set in the backdrop of the late 70s and early 80s, the film traces the gold mining activities running by the mafia in Karnataka’s Kolar region. It also features Malavika Avinash, Achyuth Kumar and Anant Nag in crucial roles.
