IPL 2019 Player Auction: The Indian Premier League 2019 player auction had a lot of drama during the bidding wars between the eight participating franchises on the 60 players who got roped in. Several uncapped players earned big as the teams broke their bank for them. Whereas, big names like Brendon McCullum, Dale Steyn found no buyers. Meanwhile, in the first round of the auction, the veteran India cricketer Yuvraj Singh also went unsold as no franchise looked interested to brought him in. But, at the last instance, the tables got turned for Yuvraj Singh and the Mumbai Indians brought him in at his base price of Rs 1 Crore.
Earlier, it seemed he might be pulled in by Chennai Super Kings, due to the fact that MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh both are at the fag end of their career and fans would love to see them play together for the same franchise but it turned out to be in the favor of Mumbai Indians fans, who were also wishing for Yuvi to play for Mumbai in the upcoming season which will be held in 2019. Even, Yuvi seems to be happy as Mumbai’s official twitter handle and the Instagram handle has shared a video in which Yuvi is saying “Yuvraj Singh signed for Mumbai, Paltan ab aaega maza”.
Earlier, the southpaw used to play for Kings XI Punjab but couldn’t live up to the expectations which led to the franchise releasing him. Now, he will play with his old friend Rohit Sharma and this can be the big opportunity for Yuvi to bring his vintage fiery form back and foster the chances to return in the national side and play the upcoming World Cup, which is scheduled just after the IPL.
